If you're looking for a great deal on a monthly mobile contract but already
have a handset and don't want to pay covertly through a monthly contract for
a new one then the SIM only deals from O2 may well be for you. There are a
range of plans to suit all needs and a few add ons and benefits that are
exclusive to O2 customers, so let's break down the deals and the freebies.
O2 SIM Only Deals
There are five pay monthly and three pay as you go SIM only deals
available from O2. On all of the pay monthly contracts the SIM card and the set
up are
completely free, but the pay as you go tariffs each charge £10 for the
SIM. However, this is made back in the extra features offered with the pay as
you
go deals. The pay monthly SIMS are divided into £10, £15, £20, £30 and £60
a month, each with increasingly more minutes and texts included in the
monthly free
usage. The £10 deal has 150 texts and 300 free minutes included each month which
is great for light to medium users, and if you're a heavy user
the £30 a month deal gives you an incredible 1200 minutes and 1000 texts free
every month. On the pay as you go side, the three options are divided
between an option that will give you unlimited texts if you top up by £30
a month, unlimited UK minutes to any O2 phone and UK landline when you top up
by £30 a month and finally 200 free minutes to any international mobile number
or UK landline. These deals are called respectively Text Anytime,
Favourite Place and your Country, and all have the monthly £30 top
up requirement in order to access their special features. As with any new
mobile contract you can of course migrate your old number over to your new SIM
so that you don't have to tell all your contacts about the change, there
is free delivery when you buy online and a 14 day returns policy if you're not
completely satisfied. You might even be able to find online discount
codes to get an even better deal.
O2 SIM Only Extras
There are a few bonuses that you can expect if you opt for an O2 SIM
only contract, the first and perhaps most attractive being that you are not tied
down for any long contract period. The minimum is 30 days, and this is because
you are not required to make up the price of a handset over the
duration of your contract. This means that if you are not happy with
the service for any reason there is no need to stay with O2. The second benefit
of an O2 contract is the offer of early and easy access to tickets to events at
the O2 arena, formerly the Millennium Dome, where all the biggest pop and
rock events are held in London. The final benefit of having an O2 contract are
the variety of 'Bolt-On' features that you can add to your contract,
such as free access to the internet on your mobile, unlimited texts
or unlimited landline calls amongst others. These bolt ons are only available
on the £20 per month SIM only deals upwards, but they do add significant
value to the deal.
